Centering Prayer
Centering Prayer is a method of silent prayer or meditation, which makes us open to receive the gift of God’s presence. It involves responding to the Spirit of Christ by being still and quiet through a personal relationship with God. As Father Thomas Keating says, “Centering Prayer is an exercise in letting go. That is all it is”.
For more information see the Contemplative Outreach UK website.
Father Thomas Keating has written a very useful booklet called ‘The Method of Centering Prayer’. You can download a copy here.
Below, you can watch some short videos of Father Thomas introducing the methods of engaging in Centering Prayer.
