This ministry has an important place in the life of the Parish. Altar Servers add to the smooth running and the dignity of all our Services, and they remind us that we are not spectators at Mass, but active participants in the celebration of the mysteries of faith. New Servers who have received their First Holy Communion are welcomed, and a short course of training is provided.
Pl. contact Deacon Gyorgy for further information.
Children of the parish are warmly invited to join one of two groups for their own liturgy at the 9.30am Mass on Sundays. The children gather in the Church at the beginning of Mass, go out to their liturgy in the parish centre, and return at the Offertory. Parents are welcome to join us with their youngest children, during the liturgy, until they are confident to stay by themselves. Children are welcome to keep coming to us until they have celebrated their First Communion; some choose to continue a little longer too.
The choir lead the singing at the 11am Sunday Mass and the main Feasts of the Church’s year. They also sing at Requiem Masses and Weddings. They are always happy to welcome additional voices and new members.
The Folk Group plays and sings at the 9.30am Sunday Mass, as well as Baptisms and weddings. They also have links with the First Holy Communion special liturgy Masses. The Folk Group are a mixed age group, which warmly welcomes anyone who would like to play an instrument or sing.
This consists of parish groups with a particular role in the liturgy. It advises and assists the clergy in coordinating and developing the liturgical life of the parish, including Sunday Masses and the special seasons of the Church’s year.
Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist are a well established feature of Parish life, helping to administer the Host and the Chalice during Mass. They also have a special ministry in taking Holy Communion to the sick and housebound.
If you wish to re-start your Ministry or become an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist, please speak to a member of the Clergy. For all rota enquiries from existing Eucharistic Ministers, please contact Michael Sherry or David Caldwell.
We pray at 9:15am each weekday morning before the 9.30am Mass. Copies of the prayer are available. All are welcome to join us.
The liturgy of the Word is at the heart of all our liturgical celebrations. The Ministry of Proclaiming the Word is shared amongst those who feel called to read at Mass. There is a rota for each of the Sunday Masses and also for special Feasts and Holy Days.

Welcomers and stewards greet people as they arrive at weekend Masses and some of the busier services in the Liturgical Year. They hand out books, newsletters and show people to seats if needed. The welcomers can answer questions and are on standby to help with any problems that may arise. They may also help take up the offertory collection. We have teams of welcomers on a 2 or 3 weekly rota for each Mass. We are always delighted to add to our teams. To be a welcomer, you just need a friendly smile and to be able to arrive 15 minutes early for Mass!
