This ministry has an important place in the life of the Parish. Altar Servers add to the smooth running and the dignity of all our Services, and they remind us that we are not spectators at Mass, but active participants in the celebration of the mysteries of faith. New Servers who have received their First Holy Communion are welcomed, and a short course of training is provided.
Pl. contact Deacon Gyorgy for further information.
The Apparitors play an important role in all our Services and they are responsible for the good order in the Church during Services. They help people find seats as the Church fills up and also help to organise the various activities such as the Collection, the Offertory Procession and the distribution of prayer and hymn books.
The choir lead the singing at the 11am Sunday Mass and the main Feasts of the Church’s year. They also sing at Requiem Masses and Weddings. They are always happy to welcome additional voices and new members.
The Folk Group plays and sings at the 9.30am Sunday Mass, as well as Baptisms and weddings. They also have links with the First Holy Communion special liturgy Masses. The Folk Group are a mixed age group, which warmly welcomes anyone who would like to play an instrument or sing.
Children are invited to join one of two groups for their own liturgy at the 9.30am Mass on Sundays. The children gather in the Church at the beginning of Mass and return at the Offertory.
This consists of parish groups with a particular role in the liturgy. It advises and assists the clergy in coordinating and developing the liturgical life of the parish, including Sunday Masses and the special seasons of the Churches year.
Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist are a well established feature of Parish life, helping to administer the Host and the Chalice during Mass. During the Pandemic, our Eucharistic Ministers have ensured that Holy Communion can be received in a Covid secure way at all in-person Masses. They also have a special ministry in taking Holy Communion to the sick and housebound.
If you wish to re-start your Ministry or become an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist, please speak to a member of the Clergy. For all rota enquiries from existing Eucharistic Ministers, please contact Karyn Johnston.
We pray at 9:15am each weekday morning before the 9.30am Mass. Copies of the prayer are available. All are welcome to join us.
The liturgy of the Word is at the heart of all our liturgical celebrations. The Ministry of Proclaiming the Word is shared amongst those who feel called to read at Mass. There is a rota for each of the Sunday Masses and also for special Feasts and Holy Days.

A small group of people are responsible for welcoming people as they arrive for weekend Masses so that everyone is made to feel welcome. They help distribute newsletters, prayer and hymn books as appropriate. We are called to welcome our neighbours at Mass helping in a special way to create an atmosphere of friendship, making us aware of what it means to belong to the Body of Christ.
