Rorate Caeli Dawn Mass

We begin our Lenten journey on this Ash Wednesday with a Rorate Caeli Dawn Mass at St Alban’s Church. Anointing with Ashes is available at this Mass.

Mass begins in darkness before sunrise, with only candles lighting the church to remind us of a world in darkness but look forward with the light of hope brought to us through Christ’s Passion and Resurrection. As Mass progresses, the church becomes brighter until the risen sun fills it with the light of day. As a votive Mass for the Blessed Mother, we beseech her to pray with us and for us during the season of Lent.
