A day to explore some of the green spaces in Macc that have been crafted by our community. Whether you want to have a look, or get stuck in and help, there is something for you!

1) St Albans Catholic Primary School
St Albans have received support from Macc Wild Network and Food 4 Macc to develop an allotment, orchard and wild flower meadow. Come and have a look
Times: 10-11
Jobs on the day: bring some shears / hedge trimmers and help us tidy up around the hedges and trees. General tidying of the allotment help needed.

2) Macc Wild Network @ Macclesfield Leisure Centre
MaccWild Network has been bringing nature back to green spaces in Macclesfield for about three years. This walk will show what we have been doing, and why it’s so important for all residents of the town no matter how many legs they have (2, 4, 6, 8, or even none at all).
Times: 11 til 12ish (guided walk)
Site accessible all day
Activity: Join Gordan Richardson for a guided walk around the leisure centre site, with Q&A.

3) Macclesfield Community Tree Nursery @ Rossendale
We are a small community tree nursery that collects tree seeds locally and grows them into trees of a size where they can be planted. This is part of an effort to combat climate change and increase green spaces for wildlife and nature lovers.
Times: 2 – 4pm (or part thereof)
Jobs on the day: Lots! Bring gloves and dress for mess. To include painting the components of raised beds that we will be making, weeding, pruning and staking, tree counting, re-organising the greenhouse and poly tunnel etc.

4) The Urban Garden
The One Project and partners have developed the urban garden over the last couple of years. Come and take a look and what their hard work has achieved.

5) Roe’s Garden @ Christ Church
A team of volunteers has created this garden over the last few years, with great use of reclaimed materials a feature.

6) SparkAllot Byrons Street Allotments
A thriving independently run allotment set on the corner of South Park. A range of plot sizes and approaches make this an
interesting visit.
Times: 1-2pm (drop in)
Activity: Join Peter for a tour around the allotments
Location: Access is via the South Park entrance. This is just off Maple Avenue (SK11 7RG).
7) St Peters’ Church
Visit the community allotment and wildlife garden.

8) St Michael’s Church
Visit the raised beds
