We are a loving Catholic community in Macclesfield, assisted by prayer and the sacraments, living God’s Word, proclaiming it to others, and serving those in need.
WELCOME
A Living Parish of Faith
We are a warm and welcoming Catholic community in the heart of Macclesfield, gathered in one of England's finest Gothic Revival churches.
St Alban's Parish has served the Catholic community of Macclesfield for nearly two centuries. Our church, designed in the Gothic Revival tradition, stands as a testament to the richness of our shared faith and heritage.
Whether you are a lifelong parishioner, new to the area, or simply curious about the faith, you will always find an open door at St Alban's. We gather each week to worship, to serve, and to grow together as a community.
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
— Matthew 11:28
Our parish family is active in prayer, outreach, and education. From our choir and altar servers to our parish council and social groups, there is a place for everyone here.

Our Heritage
A Pugin Masterwork

St Alban's was designed in the Gothic Revival tradition, reflecting the vision of one of Victorian England's most brilliant architects. The building is a testament to the belief that sacred architecture should lift the soul toward heaven.
— A. W. N. Pugin, True Principles of Christian Architecture, 1841
Every detail — the pointed arches, the encaustic tiles, the stained glass, the carved stonework — was conceived as an expression of faith made visible. We are privileged to worship in a building of such beauty and significance.
"The great test of architectural beauty is the fitness of the design to the purpose for which it is intended."
